First Baptist Athletic Program
Glorify God In All Things
At First Baptist Academy, our desire is for the athletic program to be a meaningful and influential part of as many students’ lives as possible. We encourage every student to explore, develop, and use the abilities God has given them through participation in sports, while learning lessons in discipline, teamwork, leadership, and perseverance. Our sports program is about far more than competition; it is an opportunity for students to grow in character, strengthen school spirit, and represent Christ in a Christ-honoring way. While winning is an important and valuable part of building a strong program, it must always remain secondary to our Christian testimony and our responsibility to glorify the Lord in all we do. For that reason, all students and parents involved in athletics are expected to support and uphold the standards, goals, and spiritual mission of First Baptist Academy. We want our students to check out the sports program because it offers them a place to belong, to grow, to compete, and to let Christ be seen in their lives. At FBA, the prevailing spirit of athletics should always be this: I want Christ to be seen in my life.

“It has been one of the great joys of my life to help start and build the FBA Athletic Department over the past 15 years. The journey has certainly come with its share of challenges, but with every challenge has also come reward, growth, and countless reminders of God’s faithfulness. I have been especially grateful that my wife has served alongside me in coaching and assisting, and that my children were able to grow up deeply involved in the program and truly love being a part of it. While the Lord has allowed us to enjoy championships and success in the win column, those accomplishments pale in comparison to the eternal impact Christ has made in the lives of our student-athletes, coaches, parents, teachers, and even, at times, our opponents. It has been my true privilege and honor to serve as Athletic Director at First Baptist Academy, and I will always be deeply grateful for the lasting impact this ministry has had on my life.”
